“I will use neighborhood outreach programs, social media messaging, and more to raise awareness about how these harmful practices are detrimental to individual animals and to controlling the population of animals in our community as a whole.”
“I will work with our judicial branch to create a specialized animal advocacy court that addresses animal welfare issues to expedite these cases and find solutions that will prevent too many animals from ending up in our shelters, thus reducing the strain on said shelters.”

“Ensuring that we have adequate staffing that is certified and trained to address animal welfare issues in DeKalb is key. To accomplish this we must provide quality pay and training to hire and keep enforcement staff and officials here.”
“For our shelter to operate efficiently, it has to be properly staffed. I will work with elected leaders to ensure that we hire, pay, and train the proper staff our shelter needs to function at its most optimal capacity. I am committed to ensuring that DeKalb County's shelter is the leading standard for efficiency in the region and state.”
“Educating and working with our community is vital to addressing our animal welfare concerns, from providing public space where spaying & neutering services can be offered, to creating pop-up spaces where animals in need can receive food and care. The government cannot solve this issue alone, which is why I will continue efforts such as the Animal Advocacy group whose resolution I sponsored for its creation. This is a community/neighborhood-focused group that works to provide necessary services to address animal welfare issues in DeKalb County.”
“I will work with our judicial branch to create a specialized Animal Advocacy court that will expedite these cases and seek to reduce the time that animals are held by the court. We will partner with community organizations to ensure that animals that are being held by the court will be placed in quality care in a reasonable timeframe.”
