The District Attorney for DeKalb County, Georgia, is Sherry Boston. She has been serving in this role since January 2017. DA Boston oversees the prosecution of felony offenses filed in the Superior Court of DeKalb County and supervises a staff of more than 300 people, including attorneys, investigators, paralegals, victim advocates, and administrative professionals.

During the recent election (2024) we asked Sherry Boston to comment on her position on animal welfare. She did not respond to our request unlike CEO and Commission candidates. there is ample evidence that crimes related to animal abuse are often associated with domestic violence, a topic the DA has championed. It is our belief that early intervention at this stage could help to prevent cases involving human victims.
